IndusInd revamps debit card IndusRewards from 1 October 2026

IndusInd Bank has started mailing debit card customers an “Important Update on Rewards Program.” From 1 October 2026, the old card-type IndusRewards table (Signature vs Grandé vs Pioneer, with different rupee values per point) is replaced by one structure: earn rate follows your account variant, all eligible debit cards share one balance, and 1 IndusReward is worth ₹0.25.
What's changing from 1 October 2026
Until 30 September 2026, debit rewards still follow the current card-type schedule. From 1 October, eligible savings and current account holders move automatically — no separate registration. Premium debit cards do not get a special earn rate; they follow the same account-variant table as every other eligible card on that CIF.
- Earn is 2, 4, or 8 IndusRewards per ₹200 of eligible debit spend, based on your highest eligible savings or current account variant.
- 1 IndusReward = ₹0.25 at redemption (via INDIE / IndusMoments).
- Monthly earn and redeem caps apply at customer ID (CIF), not per card.
- Minimum redemption is 500 IndusRewards, in multiples of 100 only.
- Points still expire 12 months from accrual. Unutilised points lapse on account closure.
- NRE accounts are not eligible for cashback under this programme.
Earn rates by account variant
Your mail may show only one row. The bank page lists three AMB bands. Limits follow the highest eligible savings or current account you hold.
| AMB band | Earn rate | Welcome bonus | Monthly earn / redeem cap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Up to ₹25,000 | 2 per ₹200 (0.25%) | 400 (₹100) | 2,000 / 5,000 |
| ₹50,000–₹5,00,000 | 4 per ₹200 (0.50%) | 600 (₹150) | 4,000 / 10,000 |
| ₹10,00,000 and above | 8 per ₹200 (1.00%) | 1,000 (₹250) | 6,000 / 15,000 |
Activation bonus is one-time: first debit card e-commerce or POS transaction of at least ₹500, within 90 days of account opening. At ₹0.25 a point, the monthly earn caps are ₹500 / ₹1,000 / ₹1,500 of catalogue value, and redeem caps are ₹1,250 / ₹2,500 / ₹3,750. The bank’s “annual cashback benefit worth ₹12,000+” line on Exclusive/Grande-type mails is simply 4,000 points × 12 months × ₹0.25 — you only get that if you hit the monthly earn cap every month.
Which accounts sit in each band
- Up to ₹25,000 AMB: Indus Privilege Easy / Easy1 / Easy2, Privilege Max, Classic, Young Saver, Privilege, Maxima, Multiplier Plus, Diva, Delite, Digi-start, Advantage, Advantage Prime, plus listed current-account variants (Indus One Business, Startup, Max, Premier, Green/Plus, Grain Merchant, Infotech, Dollar One, EXIM Basic) and equivalent variants.
- ₹50,000–₹5,00,000 AMB: Indus Select, Partner, Care, Exclusive, Grande, Grande Care.
- ₹10,00,000 and above: Indus Pioneer and Indus Pioneer Private.
Unified balance — one pool, not one per card
If you hold several eligible debit cards across savings and current accounts, IndusRewards are no longer tracked card-wise for caps. They combine at CIF. The bank’s own illustration: four cards earning 2,000 + 1,500 + 1,000 + 500 = 5,000 IndusRewards in one customer balance, and that combined figure is what hits the monthly earn and redeem limits.
- View the balance in the IndusInd Bank mobile app (INDIE), net banking, or IndusMoments.
- Redeem in INDIE. Catalogue / merchandise is still routed via IndusMoments; the bank uses “cashback” interchangeably with catalogue value.
- Family / grouped relationships keep separate CIF balances. Your earn rate is still the highest eligible variant on your own CIF.
- Points credit within 2 working days of the transaction (a 31 August spend should show by 2 September).
What does not earn
ATM withdrawals never earn. The MCC exclusions are the usual debit-rewards list — do not expect points on fuel, wallets, insurance, credit-card bill pay, government, or tax.
| Category | MCCs |
|---|---|
| Fuel | 5172, 5541, 5542, 5983 |
| Wallet load | 6540 |
| Insurance | 5960, 6300 |
| Credit card bill payments | 5413, 6012, 6050, 6051, 6211 |
| Government services | 9211, 9222, 9399, 9402, 9405, 9406, 9752 |
| Tax payment | 9311 |
Who is left out
The revised programme does not apply to Visa Classic (BIN 421324), Visa Infinite Solitaire (40350603), Visa Platinum Carat (443639342, 43639343, 43639344), or any RuPay debit variant (BINs 607189, 607451, 652162, 608266, 652288, 817590) — even if the underlying account would otherwise qualify.
Account variants also excluded: BSBDA, BFIL microfinance, CFD, Green farmer and equivalent, non-individual / TASC savings, Indus Solitaire, and Indus Carat.
Existing points: redeem now, or migrate by value
You can keep redeeming under the current programme until 30 September 2026. On migration, eligible points across debit cards move into the unified CIF balance. Expiry stays 12 months from original accrual — not from the migration date. There may be a short delay before migrated points show in the app.
Conversion is by monetary value, not 1:1. The bank’s example: if your old balance was worth ₹500 when 1 point equalled ₹1, you receive 2,000 new IndusRewards at ₹0.25 so the cash value is unchanged.
